So just off the top of your head, any tips for trying to make weapon props? I thought I might try to craft a less detailed version of Cloud's buster sword. If you can't think of anything, that's fine, I just thought it'd be good to ask someone who's actually done it.
for clouds buster sword, i would base it off insulation foam to keep it reasonably light. sand and cut to shape. then seal it with fiberglass cloth and resin. theres a few more steps in between, but thats the general idea!
I normally make things out of wood unless they are huge, thats when i switch to insulation foam.

Your Auron cosplay is a God-send.
I've seen SO MANY people mess this up...like, no effort was put into it. And then there are the cosplays that are...okay...I try not to judge them but it's just so hard when I see things they really could have done better.
thank you! i kinda thought the same thing before I made the costume. Once I made it, I realized why so many people had a hard time with it. sooo many different skills and knowledge of materials is needed for it. and oddly enough the belt is by FAR the trickiest part of the costume to make properly.
